Commissioner Kimberley Robinson

I am originally from Enfield, NC, where I lived until I graduated with honors from Southeast Halifax High School. I then attended Elizabeth City State University where I earned a BA degree in English.

While working at Halifax Community College from 1991-2005 as the College Transfer Specialist & Director of TRIO Programs, I continued my education by earning a Masters degree in Administration from Central Michigan University.

I moved to Weldon in 2000 to support my daughter’s educational opportunities. From 2005-2012, I have served as the Executive Director of Hannah’s Place, worked as a coordinator for a state nonprofit organization, taught English at Northwest Halifax High School and served as an adjunct Instructor of Developmental English at Halifax Community. I am presently the Deputy Admissions Director for Elizabeth City State University on the campus of Halifax Community College.

Weldon is now my home. I thoroughly enjoy the tranquil living in Weldon. In February 2013, I was appointed as a Weldon town commissioner. I plan to work to bring increased recreational opportunities for youth, more employment, better & affordable housing, and tourism. I plan to seek election in November 2013 to retain my seat to continue to work for the betterment of Weldon.
